December 29th, 1945- August 23rd, 2016.
Poppy was beloved by all who met him. Known for his lively sense of humor and good-natured personality, he welcomed everyone with a smile. He was very knowledgeable about knives and loved sharing this knowledge with curious customers, who by the time they left, became friends who would return just to visit Poppy again.
Poppy had some rough days with the numerous illnesses that he suffered, but spending time at the knife store and getting visits from his regular customers made that suffering a whole lot less and helped him get through each day, until the very end.
Poppy will be terribly missed, but the warm-hearted nature that he exuded will never be forgotten. It is carried on by his wife, “Grammy” Rose, his children, and his many grandchildren, whom he had a big soft spot for and spoiled absolutely rotten.
