CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. SEE YOU IN MARCH!
As of January 1st, 2021 we are closed for the season. We appreciate all of our customers and we thank you for a great season. We hope to see you in March!
As of June 2020, Poppy's has been in business for 10 years. We wouldn't be where we are without our loyal customers, so we wanted to thank each and every one of you. Most of you are regulars who make an annual trip to Maggie Valley just to see us. We've come to see you all as family and your visits make our day :)
We don't know what the future holds, but we will always cherish the memories from the past 10 years. Thank you all for helping us reach this milestone. Poppy would be proud! <3

The state of North Carolina mandates that face coverings be worn in public at all times.
Poppy's requires that all customers wear a face covering while in our store. We also only allow 4 customers in at a time to maintain social distancing.
We sanitize all surfaces and products between customers and ask that you request assistance when you would like to handle a product.
Please help us out by honoring these guidelines while shopping with us. The safety and well-being of our customers is our top priority.
December 29th, 1945- August 23rd, 2016.
Poppy was beloved by all who met him. Known for his lively sense of humor and good-natured personality, he welcomed everyone with a smile. He was very knowledgeable about knives and loved sharing this knowledge with curious customers. Customers became friends and would return just to visit Poppy again.
Poppy had some rough days with the numerous illnesses that he suffered from. Spending time at the knife store and getting visits from his regular customers made that suffering a whole lot less. This helped him to get through each day, until the very end.
Poppy will be terribly missed, but the warm-hearted nature that he exuded will never be forgotten. It is carried on by his wife, “Grammy” Rose, his children, and his many grandchildren, whom he had a big soft spot for and spoiled absolutely rotten.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
